and Why Rose Cottage Exists
I created Rose Cottage as more than a lodging house.
It is the foundation that allows me to do the work that matters most to me: human‑trafficking prevention and safety advocacy.
Operating a small, owner‑managed guest home gives me the flexibility, stability, and control I need to stay available for the work I do with my high-drive working dog, Rocky.
Rocky is training for search and rescue teams, scent, and behavioral response to find missing persons. My long‑term mission is to use his training to support community safety efforts, assist in locating vulnerable individuals, and contribute to early‑intervention strategies that help prevent human trafficking. This kind of work requires time, structure, and consistent availability — something traditional employment cannot provide.
Rose Cottage makes that possible.
By hosting travelers in a safe, quiet, family‑friendly environment, I’m able to maintain the freedom and financial stability necessary to continue Rocky’s training and remain available for community response. Every reservation directly supports the mission behind this home: creating a stable base that allows me and Rocky to stay focused on prevention, protection, and service.
